Eating Disorder Prevention for Parents, Educators,
This workshop addresses the cultural, social, and psychological factors that influence eating disorders in youth. From our pro-anorexic culture and focus on healthy eating and exercise to our faulty beliefs about fat, Kathi takes a wholistic perspective to how and why disordered eating develops. Topics include; diet culture, understanding fat and health, the power of language, body diversity, and popular messages about food.
Participants will have the opportunity to address their own beliefs while creating a tool box of support and health affirming messages and practices they can use at home, school, and work.
This workshop is well suited for anyone who lives, works, or spends anytime with young people of all ages.
